This week, Toowoomba proudly hosted students from our sister city, Paju, Korea, as part of a student exchange program that strengthens the bond between our two communities. The visit showcased the power of international relationships, with students exploring local landmarks, connecting with peers, and gaining firsthand experience of life in the Toowoomba Region.

“As Chair of Study Toowoomba, it is heartening to witness the growing bonds between Toowoomba and our sister city, Paju. Programs like this not only broaden the horizons of our international students but also enrich our community with diverse cultural exchanges. We are proud to showcase the welcoming, vibrant, and educational environment that Toowoomba offers to students from around the world, further cementing our region as a global leader in education. Toowoomba truly is the best place to Study Work Live” Peter Homan Chair Study Toowoomba

A special thank you to Mayor Geoff McDonald and the councillors for hosting a lovely morning tea, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made this exchange even more memorable.

“The exchange program is more than just a cultural visit—it’s a vital component of Study Toowoomba’s mission to position our region as a welcoming hub for global education. These interactions allow visiting students to experience our world-class education system, local lifestyle, and the warmth of our community, making Toowoomba an appealing destination for future study opportunities” Cr Melissa Taylor Committee Member Study Toowoomba

As we strengthen ties with Paju, we’re also investing in Toowoomba’s reputation as a global education destination. Together, we’re building bridges between cultures, creating lifelong memories, and inspiring the next generation of leaders.

This exchange exemplifies how education and international partnerships can transform communities and open doors to endless possibilities.
