The Toowoomba region supports students who are learning English as a second language and looking to improve their reading, writing and numeracy skills.
Toowoomba offers students the opportunity to learn the basics of English through to academic level courses. TAFE Queensland English Language and Literacy Services (TELLS) provides language, literacy, and numeracy training to job seekers and migrants through the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) and the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program.
The University of Southern Queensland offers English for Academic Purposes (EAP) for students. UniSQ offers English language programs for students from non-English speaking backgrounds. EAP is tuition free for Australian citizens and permanent residents; however international students are required to pay a fee for this program.
