Becoming an ambassador for Study Toowoomba has opened doors to some of the most diverse and fascinating experiences this vibrant city has to offer.
I remember the night of our first networking event, hosted by Ray White Commercial Toowoomba. It was exhilarating! Just before the event, we received our business cards, and with them in hand, we had one goal in mind: to hand out as many cards as possible and make meaningful connections!

As we mingled with leaders from the Chamber of Commerce, business owners, lawyers, and local IT entrepreneurs – which I was particularly looking forward to – I felt a surge of inspiration. As the saying goes, “If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.” That night, we were undoubtedly where we needed to be.

Our first term in Cyber Security at TAFE just ended, and as we geared up for an exciting couple of weeks during our term break, Toowoomba transitioned from its coldest days to the most vibrant days of the year, with the Australian sun shining bright and the flower beds blooming even brighter!
Spring in Toowoomba means one thing: the Carnival of Flowers! I had heard stories of it, but nothing compared to experiencing it firsthand. Thanks to Mayor Geoff’s invitation, we had VIP seating for the parade, where we were able to socialize and share the experience with some of Toowoomba’s local leaders.

The parade was a vibrant display of culture, color, joy, and pride. Businesses, organizations for a cause, community representations, and even past Olympic athletes filled the parade. I felt immense pride when I saw the Philippine float and the effort they’ve put into representing our country. Filipinos know how to bring festivity to life, and the parade presentation was a testament to that spirit! It was also wonderful to meet some of Toowoomba’s Philippine community leaders during the event.
The Carnival of Flowers, at its core, is a celebration of life, purity, and joy—where diversity blossoms alongside the flowers.

After the parade, we headed to Queen’s Park. It was our first time hanging out, not just as fellow ambassadors but also as friends, allowing us to get to know each other better while sharing jokes and our experiences so far living here in Toowoomba.

Since becoming an ambassador, I’ve had the privilege of meeting some of Toowoomba’s most influential figures and joining in on the city’s most exciting events. This is only the beginning, and I’m ready to soak up every bit of knowledge and experience that comes my way.
