Chair – Peter Homan

With over twenty years of experience across Tourism, Hospitality and Not-For-Profit industries, I have demonstrated the ability to deliver world-class services by leading the development, translation and execution of a wide range of strategies including business development, community engagement, marketing, communications, business transformation and operations. I have showcased the determination to resolve complex issues by leading research and analysis activities to identify inefficiencies, trends and root causes (e.g. economic, technological) while formulating innovative, sustainable solutions. Throughout my career, I have positively contributed to a number of organisation’s growth, development and success including; improving the organisation’s capability, team performance, culture, brand awareness, stakeholder relationships, and ultimately revenue.
Deputy Chair – Prof Ren Yi
Pro-Vice Chancellor (International), University of Southern Queensland
Professor Ren Yi is the Pro Vice-Chancellor International at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ). With over 20 years experience working in higher education, he is an expert in international education and has extensive industry management experience. Professor Yi is an International Executive Committee Member for Universities Australia since February 2019 and Board Member for International Education Association of Australia since October 2020. As an award-winning researcher, Professor Yi is a past President of the Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS) and is currently a reviewer for the Academy of International Business and Australian Research Council.
Treasurer – Kym Schultz
Business Manager Concordia Lutheran College
Kym is a seasoned Business Manager with over twenty-five years’ experience in the education sector having been a Business Manager in both the Lutheran and Catholic school systems. Kym has a track record of success and has demonstrated her ability to effectively lead and manage the financial and operational activities of educational institutions, ensuring smooth operations and the delivery of high-quality financial administration. Holding a Master of Business Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Management of the Not-for-Profit Organisations Kym brings a wide range of knowledge, business skills, and strategic thinking to her chosen profession. With a passion for optimising processes and driving positive change, Kym continues to make a significant impact in the field of education.
Committee Member – Tammy Wilson
Director Of Advancement at Toowoomba Grammar School
Proven success delivering complex multi-channel communication strategies for senior leaders (including two Prime Ministers) across large organisations. Strong reputation for developing strategic partnerships with leadership teams across government and industry to provide strategic communications advice on organisational strategy. Expertise in implementing innovative data-driven digital marketing strategies to increase market share and sales.
Committee Member – Marty Lock
International Engagement & Communications Manager – TAFE Queensland
Marty has been working in the Education industry for over 15 years, predominantly working in the field of International Education.
Having started his career in education at a Queensland based University, he moved over to the Vocational Education sector, working for one of the largest Private VET institutions in Australia. Twelve years ago Martin joined TAFE Queensland working on Partnerships, Sales and Business Development. Today Marty focuses on the engagement and development of the student journey, leading the TAFE Queensland International Education Engagement and Communication team. Developing best practice processes to enhance the student experience.
Committee Member – Cr Nancy Sommerfield
Councillor, Toowoomba Regional Council
Nancy has been a Councillor on Toowoomba Regional Council since 2012, overseeing the Water & Waste Portfolio during that time. Prior to being elected to Council, Nancy was the Marketing Coordinator for Downlands College, a co-educational day and boarding college to year 12, which Nancy draws on in her role on the Study Toowoomba committee.
