“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience”. These words by Eleanor Roosevelt seem very familiar to me as I tend to have the same perspective in life. Happiness, sadness, anger, bliss, anxiousness, hunger, confidence and so on are the instances of emotions that make us into a different breed of human beings.

On Sunday the 13th of March 2022, I took the first step on “the land down under” to pursue my Master of Cybersecurity at the University of Southern Queensland and I was anxious, nervous and proud at the same time. I applied for accommodation from Nepal, and I was given accommodation in one of the University’s colleges. The time I spent with my friends, the assignments, the musical nights, the environment and the work were the highlights of my days here that made me experience life to the utmost. From a Fruit Picker to a Personal Care Worker, the diversity of experience I had from working different jobs over two and a half years has been immensely rewarding.

As a Nature lover, I never held back on experiencing the landscapes of Toowoomba and its surroundings. Not to brag about but I have climbed the Table Top 23 times and once I managed to climb with a guitar and played it at the top. I call her Mother Mountain because she feels like a mother to me and I will continue climbing this mountain. Furthermore, I also hiked Mt. Cordeaux and climbed 2 mountains there in a single day which took me 7 hours (2 way).

On Wednesday 4th of October, I was appointed as one of the Student Ambassadors from Study Toowoomba. That is undoubtedly one of the top 5 moments of my life. Meeting other Ambassadors with the same kind of energy but with different ambitions gave me the confidence to go out there and experience it all. The Study Toowoomba Team was extraordinary in making sure that we got to experience every aspect of Toowoomba, its culture and the people.

I had an opportunity to represent UniSQ in the Sustainability Innovation Challenge hosted by the University of Queensland. A team of 5 from diverse backgrounds of studies joined hands to participate in a workshop and hackathon. This was a life-changing event for me where I got to see inspiration, dedication and hard work manifesting into something extraordinary.

Graduating with a Master’s Degree from the University of Southern Queensland would be the best experience so far for me and my family. I am thankful to everyone who stayed by my side and was a part of these beautiful memories. I will continue to live life to the fullest and keep on sharing my experiences.
