Student Ambassador – Siti Nur

2025-2026 Student Ambassador Siti Nur from Indonesia

My name is Siti Nur. People often call me Izah. I am from Indonesia, a lovely warm country in Southeast Asia.

I am currently pursuing my dream of becoming a professional educator for young children, so I am studying Early Childhood Education and Care at TAFE Toowoomba to start building my career. This has been my long-term goal since my first years in Australia, when I was still a working holiday maker.

During that time, I travelled across Australia and visited many states. In 2024, I decided to settle down in Toowoomba.

The first time I visited Toowoomba, I felt very touched by the warm welcome from the community. I was amazed by the beautiful diversity in such a peaceful regional area. At every event in Toowoomba, I saw how the community embraced, respected other cultures, and gave people from diverse backgrounds opportunities to share and perform their culture.

I felt like I had finally found a town that I could call home.

When my journey as a working holiday maker came to an end, I started researching where I wanted to study. I searched online for studying in Toowoomba and found the Study Toowoomba website. I read about the Student Ambassador Program and noticed that one of the ambassadors was an Indonesian girl named Martha, who was studying Rural Operations at TAFE Toowoomba at the time.

I contacted her and asked for her testimonial. After speaking with her, I felt determined to enrol in a course at TAFE as well.
