Here Comes 2025!

A new year always feels like a clean slate. For me, it’s the perfect time to tidy up my digital and physical spaces, clearing out my to-do list and sorting through notes from the past year. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the highs, the challenges, and the lessons that shaped me. Last year was a big one-I arrived in Australia, and since then, my perspective on life has expanded in ways I couldn’t have imagined. From the grand picture to appreciating the little things, 2024 was a year of growth.

New Year, New Resume One of the things I carried into this year was my refreshed resume, which I updated late last year with the help of an experienced consultant. They shared invaluable tips on what recruiters look for in resumes and job searching in general. Even if you already have a solid resume, sitting down with a professional can help you discover opportunities you might not have considered. A big thank you to Study Toowoomba for the Resume Project, providing free resumes to international students-your support is truly appreciated! Goals for 2025

With my refreshed resume in hand, my top priority this year is to gain valuable work experience and get my “reps” in the IT sector, whether that’s as a part-time employee or through volunteer opportunities. With my Certificate in Cyber Security wrapping up mid-year, I’m eager to gain hands-on experience in a real-world work setting. To prepare for the next step, I’ve been working on Cisco Networking Certifications during the semester break. These certifications will give me a head start for the IT Diploma I’ll be pursuing next school year, strengthening my credentials, and preparing myself before diving into the

program full-time.

Life in Toowoomba

Living in Toowoomba for the past six months has been an adventure. Honestly, I didn’t get to explore as much as I’d hoped as I was busy settling in, balancing school, work, and life in a new country. But there’s one constant that has always been a source of peace for me: the serenity of the parks I pass through every night after work. It’s moments like these that make me appreciate the charm of this city. Another thing I’ve noticed over the past year is how people from all walks of life come together here. You’ll see students taking their first steps toward their dreams, professionals making meaningful contributions across various sectors, and retirees enjoying their golden years in this peaceful garden city.

Looking Ahead

As I step into 2025, I’m filled with excitement and determination. This year is all about embracing new opportunities, learning from past experiences, and celebrating every small win along the way. Here’s to growth, connection, and making the most of the year ahead-both in Toowoomba and beyond!

Some cherished moments I had in 2024!
