Glorious Day for the Hampton Food & Arts Festival: Farm 2 Fork

Our Toowoomba Region is famous for producing high-quality food. This day was all about meeting farmers, learning about their production processes, and then enjoying a meal prepared from their produce by a well-known celebrity chef.

What a spectacular day the guests had at the Hampton Food & Arts Festival’s Farm2Fork farm trail and long lunch!

The event was blessed with glorious weather, perfect for the bus trip to three local farms: Emperors Pork, Halo Farm, and Twin Pines Limes. The journey culminated in a delectable lunch at Bunnyconnellen, nestled in a vineyard, where the produce from these farms was masterfully used in the dishes.

Celebrity Chef Alastair McLeod was the highlight, not just for his exceptional culinary skills but also for his engaging stories and vibrant personality. The food was bursting with flavour—each bite was a testament to the freshness and quality of local produce.

It was lovely to see Nancy Sommerfield, a big supporter of Study Toowoomba and our former Chair, at the event.

A special thank you to Kat from Foodie Shots, Vonnie from VonKats, and Natalie from Vigour Graphics, who contributed iPhone images. Natalie also manages our Study Toowoomba webpage.
